We are a small, family-owned dental office that has been caring for patients in Fairfax, VA since 1986! Our dental office is seeking a kind, compassionate, and skilled dental hygienist to join our team! We focus on providing quality, honest, and individualized patient care in a relaxed environment. We do not focus on production goals, just quality dental service in a warm and welcoming environment. Our patient base is wonderful and many have been coming to our practice for decades! Joining our practice is like joining a large, extended family.

New graduates and upcoming 2025 RDH graduates are also encouraged! 

Responsibilities

• Reliability and arriving on time
• Perform thorough dental cleanings, associated periodontal therapies such as scaling and root planing, and examinations to assess patients' oral health.
• Take and record dental records including dental radiographs and periodontal charting exams
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
• Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate with patients and team members.
• Maintain an aseptic technique and OSHA standards during all procedures to ensure patient safety.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance
• Document patient care appropriately
• Communicate effectively with the dentist and staff
• Treat all patients and staff with professionalism and kindness
• Come to work with a positive attitude
• Assist with sterilization procedures when needed
• Contribute to various administrative tasks during periods of no patient care
• Maintaining continuing education to comply with Virginia Dental Hygiene license renewal standards

Qualifications

• Valid Virginia license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
• At least 1 year experience working as a dental hygienist is preferred but not required
• Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques is essential for maintaining patient safety.
• Experience with Dentrix is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and comfort.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and CPR
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating self initiative when required
