Dogs Get Better Dental Laws Than You-Your Role in Educating Your Legislator and the Public We Serve

This one-hour CE is provided free of charge by the Virginia Dental Hygienists’ Association to support all dental hygienists in speaking as the expert VOICE of the profession of dental hygiene. Stay informed about national political trends that could harm public health and affect how oral health care is provided in Virginia. There will be Q and A session to address urgent concerns with links provided for follow-up information and resources. The event will be recorded to view later.

By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:

• Discuss emerging threats to the integrity of dental hygiene licensure, education and practice.
• Learn about current policy being advanced by organized dentistry and the American Dental Hygienists’ Association.
• Develop clear, targeted advocacy messages to influence legislators and engage the public—owning our profession and using our voices to lead the conversation.
