Water fluoridation is the single most effective public health measure to prevent tooth decay. This course will review fluoride, its health benefits and steps taken to ensure safe fluoridated drinking water. Resources will be available to assist with frequently asked questions and opportunities to educate patients.
About the speaker:
Pam received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Old Dominion University. She has spent much of her dental hygiene career in hospital dentistry at both UVA and MCV hospitals working with medically compromised patients. Pam also has private practice experience in both general practice as well as oral surgery offices. Currently, she serves as the Programs & Grants Consultant with the Virginia Department of Health- Dental Health Program. Much of her work focuses on oral health and chronic diseases as well as medical-dental integration. She provides education and resources to both medical and dental providers as well as for community and state programs that benefit Virginians statewide.
